RC Nitro Racing Cars

The RC Hobby has many features for different kind of people, some people like to fly airplanes, some others helicopters, some like the peaceful electric motors, and some others love the noise and smell of a good nitro Engine.

I had the opportunity to go with my friend Art Chen to a race of Nitro RC cars, the cars were 1/8 and 1/10 standard scales reaching speeds up to 60 mph, the engines are tuned with high end equipment and the drivers are very skilled in order to find the smallest change on the performance.

My friend works for a company that designs engines for that kind of RC racing cars (STS), with prices of 20000 Taiwan dollars for a good 0.18 cubic inches engine.  This can be a little expensive hobby but it gives to the drivers a touch of the real deal with the power that the cars are able to develop in such small distances.

Sadly due to some economical problems in Taiwan on the recent years, many people have left the hobby, leaving the owners of the tracks on a very hard situation.

This track in particular will be closed in October this year.

Here you have a sample of what a race looks like !!!

Building the TB-02D

After a long process and many hours of hard work, I got to fully assemble my Tamiya TB-02D drift car, it was my first model car ever to build… it was nice and fun, I would do it again!!!…

I also had to paint the body which was harder than I expected it to be… but I think the final result was very nice!!!

Here I show in the video a recompilation of photos through the different steps of the process, I don’t really mention anything about them because maybe my vocabulary is wrong and I don’t want to confuse anyone, so just see and enjoy… maybe it can help you as how it should look after X step
