My first day at the track

Last weekend I went to the racing track with Ian and some other friends.. we had fun all day for only 500Nts… Actually we only stayed there for 1 or 2 hours but that was enough for the first time… my tires got some use on the sides all the way to the edge (finally) which is good because on the city I only use the middle of them…

I was not the fastest but never the slowest… In fact I did a good job… my friend Ian has more experience and he was doing his Supermoto thing which pisses off MJB (bcz he could not do it lol)

The first laps were slow but then I got to know more the track and the speed started to flow !!!

After a good race we went to MJB’s house and we had a really nice lunch made by his wife (no kidding, fast and good)…

We want to go again to the track but I don’t know when yet, since soon I and my wife are going to hit the road for 3 days curving the mountains and trying not to get lost in some kind of farewell trip to Ali-Shan, and He-guan-shan… anyway there would be many other days to go to the track…

Heavy duty Motorcycles Rally to Tainan

On November 3th a Rally from Taipei and from all the other cities started, the destination was Tainan and the main ideas was to use the expressways that were recently opened for big bikes, by big bikes I mean over 550cc.. that actually sucks because many people that has 400cc and 500cc motorcycles are now treated as some kind of medium size engine motorcycle, but this won’t allow them to enjoy the expressways of Taiwan.

Actually the expressways are just nice in case of trip to another city, but in the case of a ride for fun.. It is really boring, I would prefer the small mountain roads to really enjoy the beauty of Taiwan..

Well about the Rally, I took off with 2 more foreigners, we met in the 61 and rode together to Tainan passing all the groups of big bikes that we found on the way.. it was nice and it only took us around 3 hours to get there.. we arrived to Tainan at around 12:00 noon, and the place had so many “scooters” and so few Big Bikes that we were disappointed… but after a couple of hours there were more than 2000 bikes… you could see standard bikes, custom bikes, racing bikes, chopper style bikes, cruise bikes and so on… any possible brand name was there… the noisy Ducati with the “super clutch”, the Bimotas, the Agustas and in general many nice bikes… on this ride the standard bike with a nice performance and the requirements for the “red plate” was the FZ6 from Yamaha.. I was about to get one of those, but the SV1000 came to me easier and besides its bigger and faster jejeje..

After all the presentations and some stunts we joined one of the biggest groups of the day, it’s the Kawasaki group from Hsinchu with around 200 bikes, we went to a hotel and to some motorcycle shop to have dinner. It was nice to ride with so many bikes, you could go slow or fast, but all the time you would be around bikes… at the dinner time and as a Taiwan tradition we had 3 strippers going to the tables and dancing with the bikers for a tip of 100 Nts… I “had to” allow one of them to do it because all the biker were pushing me… not that I wanted.. The good part was that my wife was there and she was making fun of the situation on her way… the next day we headed back to Hsinchu and the road was covered by a green wave of bikers.. it was actually amazing that with so many bikes the average speed was high… so the trip was not boring…

Well just imagine when we needed to refuel or stop on a 7-11… the line was huge jejeje…

Here is a video with some pics and bikes!!! enjoy !!
